Fángyù shou kung fu is a traditional Chinese soft or internal style of kung fu that is a flowing spontaneous martial art that uses the attackers, speed, force, aggression and balance against themselves.
Fángyù shou originates from a family system created around 1000 BC. The family practised together with parents teaching their children for generations.
The art was brought to the UK during the early part of the 20th century when a member family started a small class in London to keep himself fit and teach a few close friends.
The art was passed to an "adopted" nephew who became the first recognised Grandmaster outside of China. The art spread throughout the UK and into Europe, America and Australia.
After the Grandmasters death the association broke away into various factions, with many forming their own associations.
