Control & Restraint

The aim of these courses are to teach people to subdue and either hold and restrain a threat or remove the threat from the immediate area.

Control and restraint courses teach the use of locks on joints or muscles/tendons to immobilise and neutralize a persons fighting ability. These typically involve isolating a particular joint and leveraging it in an attempt to force the joint to move past its normal range of motion. Joint locks usually involve varying degrees of pain in the joints and, if applied forcefully and/or suddenly, may cause injury, such as muscle, tendon and ligament damage and even dislocation or bone fracture.

Joint locks cover:

Arm locks

Leg locks

Small joint manipulation

Spinal locks

Wristlocks

Also covered is controlling a person through movement and balance.

Street Self Defence

The Street Self Defence courses are aimed at those people who want to train at a higher physical intensity and for people who are more likely to encounter the threat of physical violence. The courses cover the same content as the general self defence courses but are more physical and include sparring, mass attack training plus weapons training such as bat, knife and gun defence
